Originally from Phoenixville, Mrs. Shelda Perry began her career as an elementary school teacher in the School District of Lancaster teaching kindergarten and third grade. In addition, Mrs. Perry also taught fifth grade in Garnet Valley School District for over 15 years. During her teaching tenure in both Lancaster and Garnet Valley, she advised, facilitated and participated in numerous clubs and committees including Olweus Bullying Prevention, Differentiated Instruction, P.S.S.A. Core, Reach 211, Student Council, Diversity Committee, Green Committee, Athletic Club, Delaware County Reading Olympics and the League of Educational Advancement.
In addition, she has served as a grade level leader and mentor for over 13 years. Mrs. Perry began her administrative career in Garnet Valley School District where she served as an assistant principal for Garnet Valley Elementary School from 2010-2013. Shelda also served as the Title I Federal Programs Coordinator for Garnet Valley School District for two years.
Mrs. Perry’s professional organizations include being inducted into Phi Delta Kappa International, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., the National Association of Elementary School Principals, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals.
Shelda Perry holds certifications in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and Educational Leadership-Principal. Her degrees have been awarded from Millersville University, University of Delaware and Wilmington University.
Shelda currently lives in New Castle, De with her husband and two sons. When not at work, her hobbies include reading, spending time with family and volunteering at church. Mrs. Perry prides herself on creating a culturally responsive, student-centered learning environment that is dedicated to the growth and achievement of all students.
