Lionville Elementary School reached a major milestone on October 23, 2025, celebrating its 65th anniversary and being named an inaugural Pennsylvania Blue Ribbon School by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The Blue Ribbon designation recognizes schools for outstanding academic performance and progress in closing the achievement gap among students. Lionville is one of just 13 schools statewide to earn this honor.

A Celebration of History and Achievement
The anniversary and Blue Ribbon celebration included a school-wide assembly and a historical tour of the building for guests. Superintendent Dr. Bob O'Donnell, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lou Chance, and Principal Shelda Perry shared remarks honoring Lionville’s achievements and long history. State Representative Danielle Friel Otten also recognized the Blue Ribbon Team for their exceptional work.

The event featured recognition of Lionville’s previous leaders, a performance by the Pride Squad and school chorus, and displays of artifacts from throughout the years, giving visitors a chance to tour the building and reminisce about the school’s rich history.

A Tradition of Excellence
"At Lionville, we believe that learning thrives when relationships are strong, expectations are clear, and every student is engaged in meaningful growth," said principal, Shelda Perry. "Our staff is deeply committed to both the heart and mind of every learner, fostering a culturally responsive environment where all students feel a true sense of belonging."

Serving approximately 660 students in kindergarten through fifth grade, Lionville Elementary has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence. Partnerships with families, supported by an active Home & School Association, help create a vibrant and supportive learning community. Programs like the Cultural Connections Club, along with recognition for PBIS and Title I excellence, help students think critically, take ownership of their learning, and prepare for success.
